Beta Phase

Beta phase started on 6th February 2009.

Rates are 100x/100x/100x (don't get used to it we wont be a midrate)!


Download installation:

First you need to have RO already installed, if you don't download RO + Sakray, you can find links there:

Then to install the files of EarlyRO download this:

I promise for the real launch we'll have a full one too that includes sakray, for now this will have to do. Please note we will release new set of files all through beta, with fixes.


To create your account

To create your account you'll have to use the _M/_F method. (Before the official launch we will have the control panel ready too). Open the game via EarlyRO.exe then at the login screen enter your desired username with _M if you want a male account or _F for a female account, write your password and log in, your account will automatically be created. Remove the _M/_F the next time you log in.


To Test

Please report any problem you find in this thread, but first check if it has already been reported, if you crash (shouldn't happen hopefully) please report it too. Keep in mind there will be problems, this is why it's a beta phase, there's still a lot to fix!! Things to check for more specifically:

-blacksmith job change (done)
-hunter job change (done)
-wedding
-adoption
-zeny donation via the Early Girl npc (done)
-test pvp room
-test db room (done)
-test resetting via the Early Girl npc (done)
-test healing via the Early Girl npc (with 1 hour cooldown) (done)
-view information from the Early npc (done)

If you have any questions or uncertainties about how something works or if a specific npc should be there don't hesitate to ask!


Reported or Known problems

- Payon npc are messed up a bit (this is due to using the old payon map but the NPC are still placed as they were in the new payon map). (Payon should be all fine now)
- Moving NPC and warps from Modern Prontera to Alpha prontera. (done)
- Warper are not in every dungeon yet, just towns. (done)
- Part of the interface is still in korean (It's fine just apply the basic skin.)
- Item description are wrong and gibberish. (fixed with latest client)
- Guide npcs were moved to Alpha Prontera but the markers and indication still relate to the modern prontera, same for Payon.
- Character creation does not allow special characters. (done)
- Blind is broken sometimes?
- Future branch can be opened anywhere (not restricted like db) (done)
- The Zeny Donation has a bug that allows bidding even after winner was announced (for 1 minute). (done)
- Orc Baby have no drops. (done)
- The Kafra npc still send to the old Prontera. (done)
- The Morroc map is reading from the Satan Morroc version making the middle part unwalkable. (done)
- Pressing ALT+L to open the emotion window will crash the client. (done in new files)
- Venom knife are sold. (done)
- Missing job change npc "Mr Demon Hunter" from Hunter job quest.

After Beta is done there will be a server wipe before it's officially open, correct? :D

Also,

I want to know what we can do to get this server to spread like wildfire. I vote every time I come on the website, but that is only so much of an impact. I figure that if it will be fresh by March then I can scheme something up... just not sure where to begin. I would gladly donate money, but I'm unemployed due to the American economy and want to make sure this is a wise investment. The team sounds prepared and trust-worthy; I just want to make sure that the server is well-received.

Already you set yourself above the pack with promising a very classic experience... something that hooked me. But how do we reach a wider audience? How can we draw in the despaired players of the official and non-official servers?

Yes, since the beta rate are 100x I will wipe everything but the login database probably (so your account will still be created but with no character on them. I am not a fan of wipe usually but in this case we need it.

To help the server you can vote in the topsite, write us a review on RMS (once the server is up), talk to your friends about it and invite them! Donation is welcome too but don't stress about it if you can't donate the server is not in danger I saved up a budget for it from my own money.

One things I definately do NOT want anyone to do is avertise on other servers, be they official or private, you can however advertise us on general ro website, I mentionned review on RMS but forum reviews are good too and allow for longer text. There is a RO space (like my space but for RO), I haven't looked into it but could be a place to talk about our server, there's also facebook we can create a group or just add a link in your profile so maybe curious people will come try our server. If anyone has more idea they are most welcome, let's brainstorm!
